Is it possible to return an opened-air mattress to Target?
Once you open the package of an air mattress, Target will not accept its return.
Even if you have the original receipt and are within the 90-day return window, you will not be able to get a refund for an air mattress once you’ve opened the box.
You are unable to return an air mattress to Target once it has been used, as the same “no returns” policy applies.
Nonetheless, you are free to swap the air mattress for anything else of a comparable price or keep it and get a different one.
Can I return an air mattress to Target if I cannot find a receipt?
If the air mattress has not been opened and you have another form of identification, you can return it to Target without a receipt.
Your online order can be located by Target if you paid with a Target RedCard, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, personal cheque, or a Target gift card (which you will need to keep).
But this won’t work for purchases made with cash.
For online purchases, you also have the option to obtain the digital barcode or receipt through your Target.com account.
A “merchandise return card” will be used for refunds in cases when no proof of purchase can be shown.
This offer may only be used in-store at Target and cannot be used on Target’s website.
Be advised that in each of the aforementioned instances, you will be required to produce a legitimate photo ID issued by the government for verification.
When the 90 Days Are Up, Can I Still Bring My Air Mattress Back to Target?
If you decide to return your air mattress to Target after 90 days, you will receive a merchandise card good for the amount equal to the lowest price the item was sold for in the past 90 days. However, please note that this card can only be used in-store.
But there are two cases when this isn’t the case:
- There is a 120-day return policy for air mattresses bought with Target RedCards.
- Within one year of purchase, you can return the air mattress (together with the original receipt) if it is an Embark or other Target-owned brand.
How Do I Return My Air Mattress to Target?
Any Target store or Target.com customer can return an unopened air mattress to the Guest Services Desk for a full refund.
Upon arrival at the desk, present either the original method of payment, the receipt, the barcode obtained in the Target app, or an email confirming delivery or shipment from Target.
You can also send an email to Target.com to request a return for an air mattress, but be aware that you’ll be responsible for paying for the return freight (unless an error occurs during shipment).
